Verizon TV across devices
Creative Brief

Improve the Verizon mobile user experience. Design a polished, user-friendly digital product, and elevate the Fios app to compete with industry leaders.

My Role

Within my position as a designer for Verizon, I was tasked to provide creative solutions and communicate with clients and developers to manage and elevate the Verizon TV products — ranging across TV, web, and mobile. The work spanned two tracks: evolving the product that ships today, and designing the product it becomes next.

01

Building scalable design systems

I contributed to the creation and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive design system that served as the foundation for Verizon TV.

02

Exploring and designing new features

We explored new opportunities to enhance the viewing experience, including concept projects such as Verizon 2.0, Video Feed, and Hero improvements, as well as the implementation of Pause Ads.

03

Coordinating with Verizon teams

Working closely with developers, Verizon representatives, and product managers to align on business goals and ensure smooth implementation.

Part 01 — In production

Elevating the product that ships today

Business-as-usual is where craft is proven: features designed within real constraints, integrated into a live system, and delivered with development teams.

New Hero

A hero that adapts across devices

Designing a hero that adapts across tablets and mobile, built to showcase promoted content and new offerings.

Pause Ads

A new surface for playback

Introducing a new UI element to TV and VMS products to display a static advertisement when playback is paused — specified with full motion timing for enter, transition, and dismiss states.

Part 02 — Verizon 2.0

Designing the product it becomes next

A forward-looking exploration of the Fios app, researched and designed around three focus points: how users engage, how they discover, and how they watch. “Designed with an emphasis on scalable solutions, innovative features, and close collaboration.”

TV Motion Design

Motion across the TV ecosystem

Following the adoption of Jetpack Compose as a development environment, a motion designer and I were tasked with auditing, re-thinking, and re-designing motion throughout the entire product ecosystem — from Home and Browse to the Consumption view.
